About our Facility

The Center for Microscopic Imaging Laboratory is a service microscopy lab offering biological electron microscopy work as well as some types of light microscopy work. Our lab is under the Department of Administration and part of the College of Veterinary Medicine. Our lab services all of the University of Illinois College campus. Outside institutions are welcome to approach us for service work.

Our lab will process biopsies from beginning to end or just parts as the client desires. Samples for diagnostic purposes are supervised and micrographed by a board certified Medical Technologist. Our lab will not, however, provide interpretation.

Services also include Digital Imaging, we have a high end Macintosh workstation and an AGFA duo scanner. Clients can use the scanner for negatives, prints, westernblots, x-ray film, and transparencies. Usage instruction and permission for the first time usage is obtained by contacting Lou Ann Miller at 244-1566.

Sign up for the work station and other equipment is available on the internet at the "Online Login" link above.
